Sitting with Art is the result of an 11 week class (DES207 - Design Methods) that taught and challenged students to engage with various design methods to solve a speculative problem area.
Our team tackled Seattle's histories and neighborhoods. We explored how local art can strengthen community bonds and stimulate local exploration and understanding.
As a result of research with local artists, art/art history professors, and community creatives we produced a network of interconnected benches that prompt users to stop, appreciate, and reflect upon public art.
